How old are you in dog years?

Have you ever heard different people talking about dog years or about how a cat is really old, even though it is the same age as you? Do you know how old you are in dog years?   Is a dog year really 7 years?   Have you ever thought about how long different animals live?  Do smaller animals live for a shorter or longer time than bigger animals?

In this investigation, you will research and compare animal life spans and compare animal years to human years.

Your task will be to:

– find and present data about the ages different animals live to;
– convert the age of your own pets to their age in animal years;
– compare the age of your pets to the pets of other members of the class;
– set some goals to achieve in the same time span that matches the time spans of animals.
